Tom Reitz will share images from his collection of photographic postcards, exploring “garlands of Christmas delight” in people’s homes, churches, and schools decorated for Christmas in the early 1900s.
Reitz started collecting antique and vintage glass Christmas ornaments more than 30 years ago; more recently he has specialized in collecting photographs of building interiors decorated for Christmas, dating from about 1900 to 1930.
As a former history museum curator, Reitz combines his passion for Christmas and photographs with skills and knowledge developed during his working life – cataloguing, describing, and researching each image.
